Where to Find Our Recruitment Team This Summer

Hello, this week from Leonor Ayala, URL Media's Chief Business Development and Partnerships officer.
Our hearts go out to all those impacted by layoffs, and as you lay out your next steps, please know that we are here as a resource. We just wrapped a series of workshops centered on actionable advice to help you as you chart your path. And we'd love to continue those conversations in person, so please attend our upcoming events and join the conversation with industry leaders! Here is where you can find us this summer:
- Senior Recruiter Sonali Kohli will be hosting a caucus for journalists of color at the Education Writers Association event in Atlanta, GA, on June 2nd.
- We'll also be at the Public Media Journalists Association in San Antonio, TX on June 22nd, reviewing resumes and leading a chat on "What If This Work Is No Longer Right For Me? What's Next?"
- Don't miss the chance to attend "The Art of the Pivot" panel at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists in Miami, FL, on July 12th. Our esteemed panelists include Shante Cosme, Chief Content Officer at the Global Press Journal, Janet Rodriguez, internal communications lead at WhatsApp, and Jessica De Leon, an investigative multimedia journalist at WFTS ABC Action News in Tampa. I will be there from July 11th through July 14th.
- Be sure to attend the Native American Journalists Association in Winnipeg, Canada, from August 10th to 12th, where we are excited to be funding an attendee scholarship. Sonali will be there, and we can't wait to see you!
- Mark your calendars for the Online News Association in Philadelphia from August 23rd through August 26th where our entire team will be present.
- Lastly, Sonali rounds out our summer conference season at the NLGJA, The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists, in Philadelphia from Sept. 7-10, Philly. Stay tuned for details!

On May 19 & 20, Reynolds Journalism Institute is launching its first Independent Journalist Bootcamp, which includes two days of sessions over Zoom to build and bolster the skills needed to freelance.
This workshop is for journalists of any experience level, from students to experienced newsroom staff to freelancers looking to enhance their skills. Registration costs are on a sliding scale, and scholarships are available. Inquire with will.lager@rjionline.org about scholarships & questions.
