Neo-Political Cowgirls Give Voice to the Universal Refugee

When tackling a theatrical piece as broad as the heavens, sometimes the best way in is through the myths that have sustained humanity for centuries.  Next weekend, Aug. 25 through 28, the Neo-Political Cowgirls will take over Montauk County Park for “Andromeda,” an ambitious new production about finding one’s own place in the stars, held in one of the East End’s most magical dark-sky places.

PEP Seeks Feedback on Future of Bays

When the Peconic Estuary Program first drafted its Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan more than 15 years ago, much less was known about many environmental processes at work beneath the surface of the Peconic Bays.

This year, PEP is embarking on a three-year-long process of updating its CCMP, a document that guides East End townships in their pursuit of water quality projects.

Coast Guard to Paddlers: Avoid Unnecessary Searches

Since Memorial Day, the Coast Guard First District command center in Boston has executed about 80 calls involving unmanned and adrift paddle craft cases, totaling nearly 200 hours of searching for possible people in the water. This costs money and risks lives.  The First District includes Long Island waters.
